Denmark's Nemhandel to remove CNAME records from SML on April 15

Nemhandel will remove CNAME records from its Service Metadata Locator on April 15, with a maintenance window from 17:00 to 20:00 CET. Only NAPTR records will be supported after the change.

Denmark’s Nemhandel infrastructure will stop supporting CNAME records in its Service Metadata Locator on April 15. A three-hour maintenance window is scheduled; NAPTR records will be the only supported lookup method afterward.

Nemhandel will remove CNAME record support from its Service Metadata Locator (SML) on April 15. The change follows a planned phase-out already completed in the Peppol SML and Nemhandel’s demo environment.

A maintenance window will run from 17:00 to 20:00 CET on April 15. Users may experience brief outages at the start and end of this window. After the maintenance completes, only NAPTR records will be supported for SML lookups.

Organizations using Nemhandel’s SML should verify their DNS configuration uses NAPTR records before April 15. Access Points and service providers relying on CNAME records must update their systems to avoid disruption.
