Cookies

What sets a cookie on this site, why, and how to opt out. Default stance: no third-party advertising, no cross-site tracking.

Last updated: 2026-06-22

Our position

peppolnews.com runs without advertising trackers, social-plugin trackers, or cross-site profiling cookies. We use the minimum needed to serve the site safely and to remember preferences you have set yourself.

What we set

Strictly necessary

  • Cloudflare security cookies, such as __cf_bm: set by our hosting provider to distinguish humans from bots and to protect the site from abuse. These expire within minutes to a few hours and do not identify you.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: when you submit a form, Turnstile may set a short-lived token to verify that the request is not automated. It does not track you across sites.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under European e-privacy rules because they are needed to deliver the service you asked for.

Preference

  • If you change a setting that is meaningful to keep (for example, your language or whether you have dismissed an interstitial), we store that locally in your browser. These items live in localStorage rather than as cookies, are not sent to the server with every request, and can be cleared from your browser's site data.

Analytics

We use privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics to count page views and referrers in aggregate. No cookies are set for analytics, no individual visitors are identified, and no data is shared with advertising networks.

Advertising

None. We do not run ad networks, retargeting pixels, or affiliate trackers. Sponsorships that appear on the site are served from our own infrastructure and do not set cookies on your device.

Third-party content on article pages

Some articles embed media (for example, a YouTube clip or a Twitter post) directly from the source. Where that happens, the third party may set its own cookies when the embed loads. We try to use privacy-friendly variants where they exist (for example, youtube-nocookie.com). If you would rather not load these, your browser's content-blocking settings will respect that.

How to opt out or clear what is set

  • Every modern browser lets you block, allow per site, or delete cookies and local storage. Look for Privacy or Site settings.
  • Turning off strictly necessary cookies may stop forms from working or cause the bot-protection layer to challenge you more often.
  • You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which clears cookies and local storage when you close it.

Changes

If we add a cookie, we update this page first. The Last updated date above reflects the current version. See also our privacy policy.
